Heritage Park Gardens are open every day of the year from dawn to dusk.

Admission:

  • $10 per person,
  • Children under 14 free.

  • October - November our Volunteer on Duty will take cash and sell plants.

Tips for your visit:

  • The best time to visit the park for the rhododendron flowering season is during the September to December. Throughout the rest of the year our perennial beds, plantings of unusual trees and shrubs, reflecting ponds, and autumn colours make any time a good time to visit the gardens for a walk, picnic and explore.
  • You are welcome to bring your dog on a lead.
  • Admission charges can be paid either with exact cash at the gardens or online banking. No Eftpos facilities are available. Internet banking at 'Heritage Park Rhododendron Charitable Trust' account number 02-0719-0026711-00. Put 'visitor' in the Code and your surname as Reference.
  • The Chalet is open during the peak flowering season (October- November) and when volunteers are working in the park. Restroom facilities are available during this time as well. The Chalet is wheel-chair friendly.
  • The park is a great place to have a picnic!

Getting here:

  • Heritage Park is located a short distance north of Kimbolton on Haggerty Street. Get directions here.
  • The park is a 20 minute drive from Feilding and a 40 minute drive from Palmerston North. It is also a roughly 2 hour drive from Wellington and a 3 hour drive from Taupō.

Campervan overnight stays:

Campervans are permitted to stay for up to two nights in the Heritage Park carpark, including access to the gardens.
